(Tokyo): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on Cambodians to unite in moral support for the nation’s armed forces, even if they are unable to contribute in other ways but stating that such encouragement is a true expression of patriotism.

The premier spoke on Saturday (May 31) during a meeting with Cambodian community in Japan.

“Those who love the armed forces, who care for the lives of our soldiers, and who empathise with the families of troops—wives, fathers, and siblings concerned about their loved ones on the frontlines—please come together to uplift and encourage our soldiers,” the premier underscored.

Addressing the issue of border disputes, Prime Minister Hun Manet stressed that the matter should be entrusted to the Royal Government and the national armed forces, who will work together to resolve it. He added that the Joint Border Commission is scheduled to convene at the end of June to continue negotiations.

Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei noted that in times such as these, public discourse should not dwell on perfection or shortcomings, but instead focus on shared intentions and national unity. Any mistakes can be addressed in due course, but right now, our focus must be on the greater mission: to protect our territorial integrity, our land, and the lives of our people.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei affirmed that the Royal Government, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Cambodian armed forces will continue to work tirelessly to overcome challenges and safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
