(Tokyo): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that Cambodia and Japan have reached a mutual agreement to further deepen and broaden their comprehensive strategic partnership, aiming to generate increased well-being and shared prosperity for the people and nations of both countries.
His statement was made on 30 May 2025 in a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru.
On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reiterated Cambodia’s readiness to contribute to addressing Japan's skilled labour demands through technical internship programs and the deployment of skilled workers. Upon their return to Cambodia, these workers are expected to bring back Japanese values, a strong sense of responsibility, and enhanced work ethics.
The prime minister continued, “For the way forward, Ishiba Shigeru and I have agreed to work together to further deepen and expand our all-encompassing strategic partnership, aiming to promote greater well-being and shared prosperity for our two nations and peoples.”
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei also expressed hope that Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his spouse will pay an official visit to Cambodia at an appropriate time in the future.
